I have worked with children of all ages in both an educational setting and a spiritual setting. I have over sixteen years of experience as a preschool teacher, eight years as a home-school mom, and over twelve years children’s ministry. I really enjoy the work that I do with the children and am honored that God has entrusted me to touch so many young lives with His teachings.
I grew up in Mt. Pleasant S.C. just outside of Charleston. I’ve been married to my husband Larry since 1989, and we have two adult children, Lawrence and Andrew.
In Mt. Pleasant, I worked as a preschool teacher and camp director, as well as worked in the nursery program at my church. In 2002 I moved to Georgia with my family where I worshiped at Stockbridge Methodist Church and worked at the preschool. In 2005, God called me to become the Children’s Director at Union United Methodist Church near Conyers.
I love worshiping and serving the Lord at Harvest Point and am very excited to lead PALZ Early Learning Program. I plan to continue to share God’s love with all His children and to follow the path He has mapped out for me and my family.
I am currently a teacher for the 3 year old class at PALZ Early Learning Program, and have been teaching with PALZ for a number of years.
I am married to Joel and have three wonderful children. Leah, Sydney, and Jacob. Leah is in the radiology program at Southern Crescent. Sydney is on the swim team in high school, and Jacob loves t-ball and trains. We stay quite busy with these three.
Along with being a PALZ teacher, I am also a PALZ parent. My son has been attending PALZ for several years.
Some of the things I like about PALZ as both a parent and a teacher are the small classroom sizes and play-based learning. This allows us, as teachers, to think outside of the box. We are able to work more one-on-one with students to meet their needs. From a parent perspective, I believe PALZ has been great for my son. He loves learning and going to school, thanks to PALZ!
I am currently a teacher in the 2 year old classroom, 3 days a week. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and was previously employed with the Clayton County Board of Education. With CCBE, I gained 13 years of experience in the elementary school setting, grades K-5, and special education. I also coordinated the school’s After School Enrichment Program.
I am married and have a daughter, Anna, who has been a student at PALZ since 2016.
I believe PALZ is a unique preschool setting where all children are provided with a creative and nurturing experience , and develop a love of learning that will follow them throughout their educational career.
I joined PALZ at the beginning, as one of the founding teachers. I taught at PALZ for two years. Now I am a substitute teacher and “The Reading Lady” for Toddler Story Time.
I was a Special Ed substitute teacher in Minnesota for 12 years.
I have been married for over 35 years and have five children, three grown and two almost. In my spare time, I love to read and be “crafty”.
PALZ is a beautiful way to minister to the little ones in a small, secure setting. It’s fun teaching through play!
