I have worked with children of all ages in both an educational setting and a spiritual setting. I have over sixteen years of experience as a preschool teacher, eight years as a home-school mom, and over twelve years children’s ministry. I really enjoy the work that I do with the children and am honored that God has entrusted me to touch so many young lives with His teachings.

I grew up in Mt. Pleasant S.C. just outside of Charleston. I’ve been married to my husband Larry since 1989, and we have two adult children, Lawrence and Andrew.

In Mt. Pleasant, I worked as a preschool teacher and camp director, as well as worked in the nursery program at my church. In 2002 I moved to Georgia with my family where I worshiped at Stockbridge Methodist Church and worked at the preschool. In 2005, God called me to become the Children’s Director at Union United Methodist Church near Conyers.

I love worshiping and serving the Lord at Harvest Point and am very excited to lead PALZ Early Learning Program. I plan to continue to share God’s love with all His children and to follow the path He has mapped out for me and my family.

Rachel French

‘Threes’ Teacher

Hi! My name is Rachel French. I have an incredible husband whose name is Nathan and we have two amazing boys. Judah is two and Ezra joined our family last October.

I have worked with children in a ministry setting at church since I was a teenager and developed a passion for investing into young minds as a positive influence. I majored in psychology in college hoping to one day utilize my education within the school system. I worked full time in an office setting for several years before God allowed me to find PALZ!

PALZ introduced a whole new world of education to me.  Play based learning is the best thing ever! I am blessed to be able to grow in learning the concepts of playing to learn and learning to play. I’ve also been introduced to the concept of conscious discipline.  I’ve been impressed since day one! I love being a part of PALZ.

Our team at PALZ is tight. We’re all very focused on making sure we are actively and intentionally doing what is best for each individual child. I highly recommend PALZ for your 2-4 year olds. It is a great place for them to advance in motor skills, problem solving skills, conflict resolution, social interaction, and to begin understanding what it’s like to be in a classroom setting before they start Kindergarten.

I have been married for 5 years and am a mom of two. We currently live in Stockbridge and are blessed to be close to lots of extended family! We love to travel, explore, and try new things – whether it’s across the country or in our own backyard.

This has been my first experience working with preschool-aged children and I had no idea it was so much fun! I have a BA in Communications and my work background is based in training and development. I have enjoyed relaying those skills over into the classroom.

At PALZ, our focus on play-based learning and Conscious Discipline techniques creates a unique environment for young minds and busy bodies. Playtime is not separate from learning time. We utilize all types of games and activities to give our kids the skills they need to succeed both socially and academically.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that we have an amazing group of teachers who have a heart and passion for children. I love working with such a supportive group of people. Being at PALZ has transformed the way I think about teaching, learning, and disciplining – both as a teacher and as a parent. It has been especially helpful in reframing the way I view and respond to conflict between adult and child. If you love learning while playing and are not afraid to get a little messy, then PALZ is the place for you!

I will have been married for 7 years in May 2020. I have two beautiful children, a little girl who is starting Kindergarten and a little boy who turns 3 in November who will be joining PALZ.

I have been working with young children since the age of 18.  I enjoy what I do and I am always excited to learn new things when teaching young children.  I worked in the lottery Pre-K program for 5 years until God called me to make a change and brought me to PALZ.  I will be starting my second year at PALZ in July 2020.

I enjoy the hands-on learning that PALZ provides, I know that my students are learning all while playing fun games. I love the Conscious Discipline method that we follow here at PALZ with helping children self-regulate and creating strong relationships.  Since joining PALZ I believe I have become a better teacher and parent.

When you bring your child to PALZ you know that they are going to be safe and well loved by everyone here.
